I enjoy teaching and training, and worked as a volunteer tutor at a local inner city college teaching adult education in Basic Skills (literacy and numeracy) classes.
Prior to taking this role, I took an evening course to achieve an Initial Certificate in Teaching Basic Skills – a certificate from the City & Guilds Institute.
This course included classroom-taught theoretical elements, observations of qualified teachers’ classes, and two teaching practice placements.
This qualified me to teach basic literacy and numeracy.
